Task 8: Analysing Favourite Film

Cruel Intentions

This film uses titles over moving images. Using these type of titles allows the movie to have a nice flow and, it keeps the ball rolling. The font is simple and a classical white, creates a sophisticated and classy atmosphere, and helps indicate the characters social status. The white font being surrounded by the black outline can also hit at the recurring themes of the movie about corruption, temptation to the dark side, and the ruins of innocents.  Placing the titles over an image of a grave yard, creates a bad omen. Indicates at the themes of death and sorrow. Panning straight from the graveyard to the main character hits that the said character is not going to have a happy ending. This type of title sequence worked well with this film because it only gave small hits at the plot and what is to come, and left a sense of mystery. It also works well with the genre of the film (drama)
