Task 38: auditions

In out title sequence we needed Two actors to play the victim and the killer. When thinking about who to cast we first looked at the conventions of the genre, and then at the people in our group. We decided to follow the conventions and go for the middle class white actors, to play both of the parts.

At first we thought that Jessica fit the part of the innocent looking killer, and that I (Maria), could be the party girl victim.  But if we cast people in our group as the stars, that would mean that only two people were left to look after the camera, lighting, and sound. So we decided to cast people outside of our media group.

We had multiple volunteers to star in our Title sequence. We had to evaluate all our candidates and see which ones were best suited for our film. Some people were busy and couldn't come to all the filming times. Others, such as Anthony (picture on the left) didn't fit the conventions, and the characters that we wanted to convey. We finally all agreed on casting Emily as the killer because she had the innocent look, and Stevie as the Party-girl victim, because of her blonde hair and bubbly personality. We thought that the contrast between Emily and Stevie, worked well, and we were very pleased with their dedication, and constant hard work.
